League Business - Agenda

1.      Registration Fees Combined with Lunch Fees - competing students would pay one single fee with the League reimbursing the host for its per student food costs.

a.      Proposal 1 - $13 fee - $8 for FGCCFL, $5 for host

b.      Proposal 2 - $15 fee - $8 for FGCCFL, $7 for host

c.       Proposal 3 - $15 fee - $9 for FGCCFL, $6 for host

d.      Proposal 4 - $15 fee - $8 for FGCCFL, $6 for host, $1 toward custodians

2.      Judges/Coaches Lunch Fees - a uniform standard so that schools know what they are responsible for, financially (one free lunch, all adults pay, etc.)

3.      Meal Fees in General - a discussion of the cost of food at tournaments and the best way to help hosts control same

a.      Firm deadlines for numbers = responsibility, no matter final registration

4.      Change in Awards/Trophy/Recognition - size, number, etc.

a.      Eligibility

                                                              i.      Judge Training - when, where, responsibility of the school, penalty for failing to bring properly trained judges

7.      Grand Finals/Grand Nationals Issues

a.      Drops - massive drops in 2009 - how to avoid

b.      Drops - League lost $700 due to last minute drops - explanation of Nationals Fee situation

c.       $100 Deposit for GF

d.      Enforcement of Post GF commitment to the League - no matter the number of qualifiers who actually attend Nationals, school will always pay for those students it qualified initially.

e.      Additional DROP FEE for dropping students after NCFL Deadline

f.        Suggestions for how to increase participation across the board - Grand Finals and Grand Nationals

8.      Debate Pairing - how to approach all debate events with a pairing system that supports the time frame (two days) while providing the fairest way toward reaching six qualifiers and two alternates:

a.      Currently - 2 Random Rounds, Straight Power, Straight High-Low, Round of 16/8/4

c.       Tie Breakers - how to/best system/NCFL rules
