Events: All Events. No double entries. All events are limited to 6 entries.

 

Cost: $8.00 per student. Checks should be made out to FGCCFL.

 

Food: Closed campus (FGCCFL rule). Purchase lunch tickets during registration for $5.00. Please remember to order lunches for all competitors, judges, and coaches. Judging requirements: One (1) judge for every four IE entries. One (1) judge for every four Congress entries. One (1) judge for every two LD entries. One (1) judge for every two PFD team entries. One (1) judge for each TD team entry. COACHES: Do not count yourself in your judge quota as we must be able to use you where needed!

 

Registration for the tournament:

 

Until further notice, all registration should be emailed to Bill Gibron at bgibron@verizon.net no later than 9 PM on the Tuesday prior to the tournament. Please be sure to copy your registration to Donna Kroegel at Donna.Kroegel@sdhc.k12.fl.us and Terri St John at tessspeak@aol.com  Remember this tournament is Saturday, December 13, 2008, so registration is due no later than Tuesday evening, December 9th, 2008, at 9:00 PM.

Please be certain you send all required information including student names in correct events, and judge names in pools of IE, Congress, LD, PFD, or TD. Your number of judges in each pool must match the student entries.

Please note: “The Executive Committee may levy additional tournament fees of $25.00 for late registration, a dropped entry not declared before the start of the first round, or a failure of a judge to report for a scheduled round.”

 

Tournament Day Registration:  7:30 – 8:00 in the Media Center of Brandon High School.  Only the team coach or designee should process through the registration line.  Students should report to south side of the cafeteria.  Judges should report to the cafeteria with the students until after registration.

 

CONGRESS RULES:

 

Every school entering Student Congress must supply one (1) piece of Legislation per every two (2) participants in Student Congress up to a maximum of three (3) pieces total.

 

Legislation should be written in NCFL format and should include the author’s name and school. Students should bring 26 copies of legislation to the tournament. One copy should be turned in at registration. Copies will NOT be made at the tournament site.

Directions from I-75:

 

From the north:

  1. Merge onto I-75 S toward Tampa                 
  2. Take exit 257 for SR-60 E toward Brandon              0.4 mi
  3. Turn left at Adamo Dr E (a.k.a. Hwy 60)                  0.2 mi
  4. Continue on W Brandon Blvd (a.k.a. Hwy 60)          1.5 mi
  5. Turn left at N Hilltop Rd (Steak ‘n’ Shake)               0.5 mi
  6. Turn right at Victoria St.

School is approximately 1 mile down on the right.  Pull in the first parking lot (student parking lot) and park near the hall entrance at the overhang.

 

From the south:

  1. Merge onto I-75 N toward Tampa                 
  2. Take exit 257 for SR-60 E toward Brandon              0.4 mi
  3. Turn left at Adamo Dr E (a.k.a. Hwy 60)                  0.2 mi
  4. Continue as above …

 

From the west:

  1. Merge onto I-175 W                                                   1.0 mi
  2. Take the exit onto I-275 N toward Tampa                 22.6 mi
  3. Take exit 45B to merge onto I-4 E toward Orlando  8.1 mi
  4. Take exit 9 to merge onto I-75 S toward Naples        4.1 mi
  5. Merge onto I-75 S toward Tampa                 
  6. Take exit 257 for SR-60 E toward Brandon              0.4 mi
  7. Turn left at Adamo Dr E (a.k.a. Hwy 60)                  0.2 mi
  8. Continue as above …
